Blind & Low Vision Community - Get Involved​

Whether it’s working toward a new personal goal, experiencing the ocean, or enjoying a walk in the park, Blind Fitness is here to support individuals who are blind or have low vision in staying active and connected to the outdoors.

Our programs are designed to create a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment where you can explore movement, build confidence, and be part of a supportive community.

​Why Join the Blind Fitness Community
  • Participate in a new or favorite athletic activity (ie. run, walk, bike, yoga, surf, outrigger canoe) in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
  • Participate in local events and get more connected within our community.
  • Connect with others in the blind and low vision community, as well as the greater Santa Barbara community
  • Stay active with the support of trained volunteers and guides
  • Share experiences and support others navigating vision loss

Volunteer & Internship
Opportunities

Blind Fitness is powered by a dedicated community of volunteers and interns who help create safe, inclusive, and empowering experiences for individuals who are blind or have low vision.

Whether you're looking to support events, gain hands-on experience, or simply be part of a meaningful community, there are many ways to get involved.
​To get started, please complete the registration button below:

Ways to Get Involved
  • Support participants in activities such as walking, running, gym training, surfing, and more
  • Assist with event set-up, logistics, and overall flow
  • Help create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment
  • Provide transportation support when needed
  • Contribute behind the scenes (outreach, communications, organization, and more)
  • Join community workouts and events
No prior experience is required - there are many ways to support, including roles on land and behind the scenes.

Internships & Hands-On Experience
We also offer volunteer internship opportunities for students, emerging professionals, and community members looking to deepen their involvement.

These roles are ideal for those interested in:
  • Kinesiology, exercise science, and adaptive fitness
  • Marketing and communications
  • Fundraising and nonprofit development
Interns gain real-world experience while supporting Blind Fitness programs and events and working alongside our team and community.
