Beach Walk & Run 8.9.25

The Blind Fitness Beach Walk & Run is a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors, move your body, connect with others, and help raise awareness for the blind and low vision community. Join us Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 9:30am - 11:30am.

This month join us for our Summer Beach Potluck Picnic afterwards 11:30 - 1:00 pm! Bring your favorite dish to share, beach towel, chair and of course sunscreen! We'll be on the sand, directly down from where we meet for our monthly walk.

Date: Saturday, August 9, 2025
(Upcoming Dates: September 6 and October 11 for White Cane Awareness Day!)

Time: 9:30am-11:30am *Mandatory new volunteer orientation at 9am*

Who: All people who are blind or have low vision, along with their family, friends, and community members. 

RSVP: Blind, low vision participants and sighted guides, please register by Thursday, August 7, 2025.

Location: East Beach parking lot, at west Cabrillo parking lot near Cabrillo Pavilion Bathhouse. Nearest address is 1118 E. Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara CA 93103. We congregate at the end of the west parking lot near the men’s public restroom, outdoor showers and bike racks. Look for the Blind Fitness flag. If parking in the public lot, please be sure to pay at the pay station upon arrival. There is a pay station located next to our meeting spot. *Please note that there is a fee even for those with a disabled placard.

Schedule: 

• 9:00-9:30am: New volunteer guide training & orientation (Mandatory for all first time volunteers)
• 9:30-9:45am: Meet & greet connection circle
• 9:45-11am: Walk, run, stroll towards Harbor & return
• 11:30-1:00pm: Summer Potluck Picnic at the Beach!
  Bring your favorite dish, a beach chair, towel and or blanket, sunscreen and join us on the sand! We'll be located on the sand, in front of the showers. Look for our flag!
  

Suggested donation: $10 per participant/volunteer
