Blind Fitness celebrates National White Cane Awareness Day every year in October. Join us in celebrating the power and purpose of the white cane Saturday, October 11th from 9:30 - 12:00 pm For people who are blind or have low vision, the white cane is more than just a tool - it’s a symbol of freedom, independence, and safety. It makes it possible to travel confidently through daily life, whether at work, school, outdoors, or around the community. White Cane Awareness Day shines a spotlight on the vital role of the white cane in empowering individuals to live fully while educating the public about its true significance. This class blends sound healing, breathwork, mindful movement, and guided meditation to awaken the senses and foster inner calm. Gentle, accessible postures with clear verbal cues support confident movement, while singing bowls, chimes, and breath practices create a soothing soundscape for deep relaxation. All levels welcome - no yoga experience needed. Come connect body, breath, and spirit in a supportive, sight-free space. The Blind Fitness Beach Walk & Run is a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors, move your body, connect with others, and help raise awareness for the blind and low vision community. Join us Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 9:30am - 11:30am. Date: Saturday, September 27, 2025 (Upcoming Dates: October 11 for White Cane Awareness Day!) Time: 9:30am-11:30am *Mandatory new volunteer orientation at 9am* Who: All people who are blind or have low vision, along with their family, friends, and community members. Join us for our last Nite Moves of the Summer! This vibrant weekly event is centered around fitness, fun, and community! It’s a joyful celebration “built around a run,” and we’ve had such a blast being included! It’s a fantastic opportunity to get moving, soak in the sunset, and connect with others in a joyful, inclusive environment. Come run, walk, or cheer with us—let’s make this last session of the season a blast to remember! Participation Details Blind Fitness Rate: $10/person (for each BF Athlete or sighted guide) Blind and low vision participants, along with their volunteer guides, can join Nite Moves for just $20 per pair. ($10/person). Each participation fee should be paid directly to Nite Moves at check-in using one of the following options:
