Dear Blind Fitness Community,
After a remarkable journey of founding and leading Blind Fitness over the past 4 years, the time has come for me to transition from Executive Director into a new role as a member of the board of directors. I do so with a heart full of gratitude, pride, and love for this incredible community we have built together. When I founded Blind Fitness in 2021, I could never have imagined the profound impact it would have—not just on our community, but on me personally. I remember our very first beach walk and run during the Covid-19 pandemic, where I recruited volunteers from a Craigslist posting, unsure of what to expect. That small, passionate group was the first sign of something truly special. One of my greatest joys has been working with the blind surf community—witnessing the freedom and exhilaration that come with riding the waves, guided by trust and determination. Through every event, every connection, and every story shared, I have been reminded of the kindness, resilience, and love that exists in the world. I am thrilled to hand off the position to someone who has been part of this journey from the very beginning—our founding board secretary, Tania Isaac-Dutton. From day one, Tania has played an integral role in shaping Blind Fitness into what it is today. Her compassion, leadership, and dedication to our mission make her the perfect person to guide this organization into its next chapter. I am confident that under her leadership, Blind Fitness will continue to enhance its programming, foster new community partnerships, and advocate for greater inclusivity with the blind and low vision community. "I am truly honored to step into this role, continuing the remarkable work of Blind Fitness and following in the path of Brianna Pettit, whose dedication, vision, and collaboration have established a strong foundation for future growth,” said Isaac-Dutton. Blind Fitness is proof of what can happen when people come together with a shared vision. I am excited to see what the future holds for our organization in the years to come. With love and gratitude, Brianna Pettit Founder, Blind Fitness
